Why This Lakeside Hotel Website Takes the Booking Halfway Down the Page

A guest rarely decides to book in the first screen. They decide after the rooms, the services and a few good reasons to stay, which on Lunarel’s page is about halfway down. So that’s where we put the booking form, beside the hotel’s phone number for anyone who would rather call.

The brief

The Booking Widget in the Header Asks Before the Guest Has a Reason.

The Problem

A header widget is the standard hotel answer, and it has one flaw. It sits at the top while the persuading happens below it. A guest reads about the spa, the pool and the suites, decides to stay, then has to scroll back up or open a separate booking engine. Each of those steps is a moment to check the same room on a travel site.

The Goal

Keep the book now button in the header for guests who arrive ready. For everyone else, put a full booking card, with dates, rooms, guests and children, straight after the reasons to stay, and set the hotel’s email and phone beside it.

Who it’s for

Couples and business travellers who read before they book. They look at the room, check the services, and would rather reserve with the hotel itself than through a travel site.

The visual system

Every Dark Band Is a Pause Before the Next Decision.

Deep teal runs in wide bands under the services, the booking section, the offers and the footer, so a guest scrolling the page feels it move in chapters. Slate teal marks every button. A softer lake teal holds the email and phone. Between the bands, white and pale grey keep the room photos bright.

Gilda Display

A light serif sets every heading, from the hero to the booking card. It suits a hotel that sells a slower pace.

The decisions

How the Design Solves It

The booking card only works because of what comes before it.

One Button Over the Lake View

The hero is a dark bedroom opening onto the lake, with a centred serif headline and a single view all rooms button. No booking bar competes with the view. The header still carries book now, for the guest who arrived with dates.

The Suite, Then Six Services

The family suite comes first, with its nightly price, beds, guests and size on a white card over the photo. Six services follow on a deep teal band. By the time a guest reaches the reasons to stay, the practical questions are already answered.

Reasons to Stay, Signed by the Manager

Easy booking, 24/7 service, a tourist guide and a friendly interface sit beside a collage of the beach, the pool and a cabana. The block closes with the manager’s photo, name and signature. Guests trust a named manager more than another bullet point, and it costs the hotel one photo.

The Booking Card, Right After the Reasons

Directly under the manager’s signature, a white card asks for dates, rooms, guests and children, with a book now button. The email and phone sit beside it on a lake teal panel. Nobody has to scroll back up.

The walkthrough

Ten Sections, From the Lake View to the Booking Card

Choose a section to see where it sits in the design and what it’s there to do.

  1. A calm bedroom looking over a lake, a centred logo and menu, a light serif headline and one book now button.

  2. A welcome headline beside two room photos, a short paragraph and a discover more button, with a hotel sign drawn at the edge.

  3. Three room photos side by side, the family suite named with its price, beds, guests and size, and a view all rooms link.

  4. Six services with line icons on a deep teal band: spa salon, restaurant, swimming pool, high speed wifi, fitness centre and high security glass.

  5. A collage of the beach, the pool and a suite beside four reasons to choose the hotel and the manager’s signature.

  6. A get in touch panel with the email and phone on a teal band, beside a white booking card for dates, rooms, guests and children.

  7. A five-star review with the guest’s name and photo beside a bright photo of a couple relaxing in their room.

  8. A deep teal band inviting guests to check the hotel’s exclusive offers, with towels and a frangipani flower on the right.

  9. Three news cards with photos, dates and read more buttons.

  10. Reservation, contact and support links, a newsletter, the booking email and phone, and the Lunarel logo set large.
