A Tour Operator Website That Prices the Trip Before It Sells the Dream

A holiday abroad is one of the bigger things a family buys all year, and they won’t book one they can’t price. Vista Wanderlust Ventures sells group tours to Malaysia. So the first screen names the four cities, the price per person and the group size, before any photo gets a look in.

The brief

A Traveller Who Can’t Find the Price Calls Someone Who Shows It.

The Problem

Many tour operator sites lead with a slogan and a stock beach, then hide the price, dates and inclusions in a PDF or behind a phone call. Travellers comparing three operators won’t chase the one that makes them ask. They book with an operator that tells them up front.

The Goal

Name the destination and the price per person in the first screen, with a search for dates and travellers on top. Then tick off what the package includes, show the packages as cards to compare, and keep a book now button in every section. No PDFs.

Who it’s for

Families, couples and small groups of five to ten travellers planning a holiday abroad. They compare a few operators on price, inclusions and trust before they commit.

The visual system

A Travel Agent’s Green With Flashes of Holiday Orange.

Forest green carries the logo, the top bar and every book now button, the colour of an established agency. Warm orange is saved for excitement, from Genting in the hero to the prices and the 50% offer. Deep navy holds the headlines. Pale mint keeps the photos in front.

The decisions

How the Design Solves It

How the page answers the questions a traveller would otherwise phone in.

The Trip and the Price Up Front

Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Putrajaya and Genting fill the headline, with Genting in orange. Under them sits the price per person in taka for a group of five to ten, and even a line on what isn’t covered. A search bar for the trip sits beside a night skyline.

Inclusions You Can Tick Off

Beside a collage of Malaysian sights and an 8+ years badge, eight ticks cover what the package includes. Resort stays, daily breakfast, return air tickets, the visa fee and a tour guide are all listed. Those are the questions a traveller would otherwise phone about.

Packages to Compare

Six package cards show the nights and days, the cities and a price from per person, each with its own book now button. Destinations and upcoming tours reuse the same card. A visitor learns to read one card and can compare them all.

A Book Now Button in Every Section

Green book now buttons sit in the header, beside the inclusions and on every package card, always with the same arrow. The 50% offer banner gets an orange one to match. Wherever a traveller decides, the button is already there.

The walkthrough

Nine Sections, From the Price to the Package

Choose a section to see it in the design and the question it saves a traveller from asking.

  1. The cities and the price per person beside a night skyline, with a search bar for destination, dates and travellers and a green top bar with phone numbers.

  2. A collage of Malaysian sights with an 8+ years of experience badge, beside free visa and air ticket consultation and ticked lists of inclusions.

  3. Six package cards with the nights and days, the cities, the price from and a book now button, over a skyline of landmarks.

  4. Four destination cards in a carousel, from Europe to Costa Rica, each with the number of tours.

  5. A navy and orange banner offering up to 50% off a favourite destination, with a large badge and a book now button.

  6. Three quote cards with the traveller’s name and role, and dots to see more.

  7. Three upcoming tours in a carousel, with the same card as the packages so the price is read the same way.

  8. Three travel articles with photos, tags, dates and an explore more button.

  9. The logo, social links, two columns of quick links and a gallery of travel illustrations on near-black.
